Forging Rawblade

| Sunday, December 27, 2009
Recently, a few good friends of mine decided to take the plunge of going into knife-making, full time. In the face of expected scepticism, issues of finance and stability, Rawblade is born.

After month's hearing about Rawblade and not seeing it for myself, I managed to find time to drop by their premises one fine Saturday.

Essentially, a three-man team comprising of Rahim @ Aim, Wan & Cik Amer, Rawblade is based in the heart of Kuala Lumpur at an open-air shop at Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Conlay a colony as well as, a trading post for local artistic entrepreneurs. Sharing space with a local craftsman, Rawblade's simple yet, complete set up is impressive.

I know I was impressed with what I saw. Impressed with the fact that these people are actually endeavouring in an exotic trade of bladesmithing. As much as I was in awe of some of the finished items of their handiwork. Classy.

Naturally, I thought I'd share the people, the happenings and the products of Rawblade with the rest of the world as an appreciation of their collective belief and raw talents. So, here goes.. 8)
